Originally from Bay City, Michigan, Kristy Miller served as an active duty Marine working as a Legal Services Support Specialist for 4 years. While on active duty, she served as a military justice clerk providing assistance to prosecutors responsible for handling criminal matters; as a review clerk providing assistance in the post-trial review process; as an administrative separations clerk, reviewing and processing administrative separations; and, as the Clerk of Court for the Eastern Judicial Circuit where she assisted the trial judiciary who preside over courts-martial conducted worldwide.
After leaving active duty, Mrs. Miller worked as a civilian legal technician for 4 years, both at the School of Infantry-East, on board Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and at Instructor Battalion, The Basic School, on board Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia, providing technical legal assistance to commanders at both units for a wide variety of legal matters ranging from minor offenses and non-judicial punishment to complex investigations and general courts-martial.
Mrs. Miller completed the Legal Services Specialist Course from the Naval Justice School, and is a recent graduate of Technical College of the Lowcountry with an Associate Degree in Applied Science/Paralegal. She has lived in Beaufort County since 2012 with her husband and three children.
